Some analyst's have made there NBA Mount Rushmore, some are the same some are different. Only a handful of players deserve to be mentioned as possible Basketball Mount Rushmore Nominees, to be named as one would be an honor. One future Hall of Famer that's been on someone's Rushmore is Kobe Bryant. Kobe has a pretty good argument to be on Rushmore, his statistics speak for himself. Kobe is a 16x All-Star, 5x NBA Champion, 2x NBA Finals MVP, 1x NBA MVP, 4x NBA All-Star MVP, 11x All NBA First-Team, including many other smaller awards. Kobe's trophy case is impressive, only few compare. Kobe Bryant could be in somebody else's NBA Rushmore, but not mine. No disrespect Kobe, your a legend, but your not one of my 4. Another man who has an argument is Tim Duncan. Duncan is a 4x NBA Champion, a 3x NBA Finals MVP, 2x NBA MVP, 14x NBA All-Star, 10x All NBA First-Team, 1998 Rookie of the year, 8x All Defensive First-Team, 6x all Defensive Second-Team, and is the San Antonio Spurs all time leading scorer. Tim Duncan is a future Hall of Famer, a living legend, one of if not the best Power Forward to ever play the game. No disrespect to Tim, but Tim also isn't on my Rushmore, but if Tim Duncan wins the NBA Title this year, his argument will be enhanced, and he will find a spot of somebody's NBA Mount Rushmore. These are my NBA Mount Rushmore Legends.
Michael Jordan
I don't know if anyone didn't have Jordan on there Rushmore, but if you didn't, you shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion on anything basketball. Jordan is the best Shooting Guard of all time, if not the best player of all time. Jordan won the NBA Championship 6 times, NBA Finals MVP in all of his title wins. Jordan was also a 16 time All-Star which is the most appearances in an all star game. There is no denying Michael Jordan's legacy, he is one of 2 members on my Rushmore who are locked in for anyone who really understands what they are talking about.
Magic Johnson
Earvin "Magic" Johnson is the best point guard of all time, there is no denying this. He brought something to the game that no one had ever seen before. Standing at 6'9 he is a towering force at point, he could play all positions on the court, he was just that versatile. Magic was 5 time NBA Champion, was 3 time NBA Finals MVP in 3 of those 5 title wins. He was a 3 time MVP, 12 time All-Star, 9 time All NBA First-Team, along other smaller awards. Magic is one of the best and he is my second and final no discussion pick for NBA Mount Rushmore.
LeBron James
There is no denying the impact that LeBron James has had on the game of basketball. Its surprising that one man could have such an impact in the NBA following a league that has had names like Johnson, Jordan, Russell, Chamberlin, Malone, Bryant, Duncan, Robertson, the list goes on and on. James has brought something to the league no man has ever had, the ability to adapt and get better every year no matter how old. LeBron is a physical force, a fantastic team mate looking to make the pass, a clutch shooter from anywhere on the court, can drive to the basket like no other, and has more of a complete game then any of the names mentioned before.
The last name on my Mount Rushmore is....
not Larry Bird, not Wilt Chamberlin, not Karl Malone, and not John Stockton.
Bill Russell
The Celtics Legend, 11x NBA Champion, 5x NBA MVP, 12x NBA All-Star, how is that not a lock? Well, to some because it was a long time ago "it doesn't matter," well it does count and always will count. No nobody will ever win as many titles as Bill, nor will anyone come close, Bill Russell is a legend and arguably the best NBA player off all time, but that's not for me to decide.
